October 1, 2005, finds a fully developed Yod materialized in the sky. Almost perfectly materialized, with planets at the same degree (22°-24°) at all points of a Y structure called a YOD. This is illustrated in the proceeding two horoscopes. This Yod gradually formed over a month’s time, as fast moving Mars moved to the late degrees of Taurus and formed 150° aspects to the slower moving Jupiter and Pluto.
Authority Joan Kellogg has lectured and published, over the years, materials about this pattern and its opportunities. She speaks of it being principally esoteric (abstruse – difficult to understand). She also makes the point that the Yod involves inner processes, which are not often visible. For Yods are secret (esoterikos- esotero “inner” and eso “within”) signatures writ in the heavens. They are ~ “Fingers of God”, symbolic of the most difficult of human and societal challenges.
Often the resolutions of such challenges are termed ‘miraculous’. When this Yod structure is ‘in season’ (contact made to the “Activation Point” at 23° Scorpio for our purposes), by Venus, we can witness miracles happening. Venus means to manifest. Multiracial South Africa and an independent Palestine came into being under such a Yod in the 1990s. Both outcomes were considered difficult, even unattainable at the time. Expect developments involving these two countries.
When Yods manifest this completely, there are opportunities to integrate the difficult 150° (inconjunct) patterns that are crucial to their makeup. In this specific October 1, 2005 Yod involving Jupiter and Pluto to Mars, integration of the two hands at the “activation point”, directly (opposes) contacts, or addresses the ‘foot’s’ (Mars) issues. When this happens astrologically in the sky “As Above” it is a time to make progress, or evolve in terms of the ‘foot’s’ symbolism in the “So Below!” In our upcoming example, Mars at 23° Taurus 22’, is stationing retrograde. Stations are a slowing down and stopping relative to the Earth’s movement. This results in an intensified expression of the symbol. In our case this is Mars. Mars generally corresponds to: direct action, energy, heat, and force. In other words, Mars is the fuel and muscle of life. Mundanely, in the charts of countries, Mars is their business, military actions, and political maneuvers. Mars is in exact Mutual Reception (in one another’s signs of rulership) with Venus on October 1, 2005. This event is very, very important.
What will the season of this Pluto, Jupiter, Mars, and Venus Yod bring?
Let us look at the charts of some entities (institutions or organizations), and countries with this pattern in play in their birth charts. For them it should time significant activity.
Brazil’s Sun is 23° Scorpio 10 on the Ascendant (17° Scorpio 30’). The Yod is exact to Brazil’s Sun. This may be their great opportunity to resolve the conflicts that have riled their government this past year.
Austria’s Sun is at 23° Taurus 49’. The Yod points directly at the ‘heart’ of her business and political affairs.
The same can be said for Ecuador who’s Sun is at 22° Taurus 23’ on the Midheaven Angle at 23° Taurus 21’.
The hit to Israel’s Sun (23° Taurus 40’) is a Bulls-Eye. Her Mars is in a square pattern from 28° Leo 43’. Israel’s struggles (the pullout from Gaza) for the past months leading up to this Yod’s manifestation have been carefully watched by the world’s hundred-ninety plus nations. Now is the time for the South Africa-like miracle. Keep in mind that the Palestinian miracle is possible in the same moment.
In the same neighborhood, Iran has her Uranus at 20° Scorpio 55’, squared to her Sun at 22° Aquarius 05. In other words, the Yod forms to Iran’s Sun ruler Uranus. We know about the issue of nuclear proliferation and Iran. These issues connect to Israel and the United Nations.
As to institutions, the United Nations has Mercury at 22° Scorpio 15’ and she is currently caught up in a flurry of struggles, involving words, attempting to redefine her message, her ‘business’ in the world. The Security Council is being called upon to address the Iranian issue.
Perhaps the most ‘hopeful’ situation is the one involving North Korea. The North Korean Moon is at 25° Scorpio 38’, her Mars at 20° Scorpio 03’, both square to Saturn at 28° Leo 43’. Recently North Korea informed the world that she was self sufficient in terms of food after years of paralyzing famine. Like Iran, North Korea is in the docket over the issue of nuclear proliferation. The recent 6 Nations summit in Beijing thought they had secured the ‘miracle’ of putting the North Korean nuclear program back in the bottle. We’ll see!
All this needs to be watched carefully because the U.S. Moon 26° Aquarius 56’ is in square pattern to the “Activation Point” 23°-24° axis of the October 1, 2005 Yod. America is sure to be an ‘agent for change’ in all the examples listed above. Astrology unveils all sorts of meaningful “intelligence”. For example, the U.S. birth chart relocated to the President’s vacation “White House” outside of Crawford, TX (Prairie Chapel) is 23° Scorpio 22’ascending. Further to the east in the Houston environments it is 25° to 26° ascending at Galveston Island. Consider the timing of Hurricane Rita to East Texas and the Gulf oil refineries. The Yod timed the miracle of Rita turning north away from Galveston Island.
